|
Legendary Jamaican Reggae Band Chalice Announces California Tour Dates and New Single “House of Music” Featuring Prezident Brown.
Don't miss these rare and highly anticipated appearances.
Chalice is one of Jamaica’s most respected roots reggae bands, originally emerging during reggae’s influential 1980s era. Known for their rich harmonies, conscious songwriting, and dynamic live performances, the band helped shape the sound of modern Jamaican reggae. Today, Chalice continues its legacy through new recordings, international touring, and a renewed commitment to delivering authentic reggae music to audiences worldwide. Bridging generations of reggae lovers, the band remains dedicated to preserving the culture while pushing the music forward. Following powerful performances at The Jamaica Benefit concert inside the Hard Rock Hotel in Miramar Fl and Rebel Salute USA, the iconic reggae group Chalice continues its comeback with new music and landmark California performances. Jamaican reggae pioneers Chalice continue their highly anticipated international resurgence touring the western US this July, 2026 alongside the release of their brand-new single “House of Music,” featuring veteran reggae deejay Prezident Brown. The announcement follows the band’s celebrated appearance at the inaugural Rebel Salute Florida USA concert on April 19, where Chalice delivered an outstanding performance that reminded audiences why the group remains one of Jamaica’s most respected and enduring reggae institutions. This summer, Chalice will make rare and highly anticipated appearances in California with performances at:
Thurs July 23 - Mill Valley, CA - Sweetwater
Fri July 24 - Santa Barbara, CA - Soho’s
Sat July 25 - Topanga, CA - 24th Annual Reggae on the Mountain
Fri July 31 - Santa Cruz, CA - Moe's Alley
Sat Aug 1 - Nevada City - The Fern
For reggae fans across the West Coast, these performances represent a unique opportunity to experience one of Jamaica’s most influential bands live as they enter a bold new chapter. Formed in Jamaica and celebrated for classics such as Good To Be There, I’m Trying, Paise Him, Dangerous Disturbances and many more that helped define the reggae landscape of the 1980s, Chalice earned a reputation for exceptional musicianship, dynamic stage performances, and a fearless commitment to artistic originality. While many bands from the era have faded into history, Chalice’s story continues to evolve. Today, guided by founding member Wayne Armond and early member drummer Phanso Wilson, the band consists of a revitalized lineup that honors its legacy while embracing the future. The group’s latest single, “House of Music,” captures that spirit wonderfully. Featuring acclaimed reggae veteran Prezident Brown, the track celebrates the unifying power of music, culture, and community while showcasing Chalice’s signature blend of lyrics, infectious grooves, and timeless musicianship. “This comeback is about more than nostalgia,” says Wayne Armond. “It’s about honoring where we’ve come from while continuing to create music that speaks to people today. House of Music represents that journey and our commitment to keeping reggae vibrant, relevant, and uplifting.” For longtime fans, Chalice’s return offers a chance to reconnect with a beloved chapter of reggae history. For newer audiences, it is an opportunity to discover a band whose influence and authenticity continue to resonate across generations. As the band prepares for new recordings, expanded touring, and a renewed global presence, these California dates mark another important milestone in a comeback that is quickly becoming one of reggae’s most inspiring stories.

IRIE ITES - Powerful song that delivers an important message for the healing of the world.
|
The Reggae band IRIE TIME invites you to listen to a powerful song that delivers an important message for the healing of the world - "IRIE ITES"
Listen and enjoy "IRIE ITES" Here on YouTube The lyrics capture a classic reggae message: unity, peace, and a return to a more innocent, childlike way of seeing the world. CLICK HERE FOR LYRICS AND MORE “Dream a world of harmony… without hatred, without war” taps into a theme you’ll hear across a lot of roots reggae—very much in the spirit of artists like Bob Marley, where music isn’t just for vibes, it’s also about social vision and healing. That “world all children see” line is especially powerful—it suggests that peace isn’t something complicated we have to invent, but something we’ve kind of forgotten as we grow up. www.IrieTime.com

Cymande is the most important black British group of their generation, a band so many people have heard, but yet not“heard of.”In the early 1970’s in South London, a group of black musicians, who all emigrated to the UK from the Caribbean as children, formed the group. Led by Patrick Patterson (guitars, vocals) and Steve Scipio (bass, vocals) Cymande was so unique and ahead of its time that, not with standing the success in the States in the early ‘70s, it hasn’t been until recent years that the general public has truly begun to catch on. Their first three albums: Cymande (1972), Second Time Round (1973) and Promised Heights (1974) combined jazz, funk, soul, and Caribbean grooves to create a unique sound of their own; music that was both political and spiritual.

New Song from MARCIA GRIFFITHS "WHEN YOU LOVE ME"
|
LF Productions Present ~ New Song from MARCIA GRIFFITHS "WHEN YOU LOVE ME"
MARCIA GRIFFITHS
LISTEN HERE
Produced by Sean Lewis Folkes for his LF Productions label. The horn-hooked single reunites Lewis Folkes with the reggae queen, with whom he worked several years ago. He said she was the consummate professional throughout the project.
“Collaborating with Marcia is defined by professionalism and respect for reggae music traditions. She’s prepared yet intuitive, refining melodies to serve the message,” Lewis Folkes noted. “Her calm focus in the studio ensures authenticity, grounding each project in cultural integrity and artistic purpose.”
On "When You Love Me", Griffiths was supported by the Code Red Band, one of the top backing units in South Florida.
Lewis Folkes’ resume as a producer includes songs by established artists including Ed Robinson, Luciano and Pressure Busspipe, as well as several upcoming acts. Working with a seasoned professional like Griffiths made his job that much easier.
“With emerging artists, I’m more hands-on with structure and branding. With Marcia, my role is curatorial, safeguarding her creative autonomy and ensuring production stays true to reggae’s roots, while deferring to her established vision,” he said.
Marcia Griffiths is arguably reggae’s most enduring artist. Her career took off in the mid-1960s as a rock steady act at Studio One where she was mentored by singer-songwriter Bob Andy. "Feel Like Jumping", "Mark my Word" and "Really Together" (with Andy) were some of her biggest hits at Studio One. In the 1970s, she toured the world as a member of The I Threes, Bob Marley’s harmony trio. During that decade, she recorded several classic hit singles including "Dreamland" and "Stepping out a Babylon" for producer Sonia Pottinger. "Electric Boogie", her best-selling song, was released in 1982. The link to listen - click HERE Contact info: folkslewis@gmail.com — 786 239 9433

Our parent company, RBA Publishing & Publicity, is based out of Humboldt County, CA (formerly Reno, NV). For 25 years, we produced the annual Reggae Festival Guide print magazine. Although we don't publish the annual magazine anymore, we have our top-ranking website: www.ReggaeFestivalGuide (41,000 unique monthly visitors), and this weekly reggae e-publication Reggae Festival Guide (55,000 weekly subscribers). Please follow us on Socials for up-to-the-minute reggae news and music: We have 450,000 fans that follow us on Facebook (please join us there), 40K that follow us on Instagram, and another 9,000 that follow us on Twitter. We offer you many ways to help you get your fix of reggae music, history, lifestyle, current news, and of course, festivals, all year round. Our publicity & marketing company keeps growing and adding elements to bring you trusted coverage of reggae happenings from around the world. We love what we do and look forward to input from you with your suggestions, critiques, questions, etc. Also contact us to find out how you can promote your band/business/festival in this e-newsletter or on our website.

We also offer Publicity & Graphic Services for bands and festivals: band bios and interview written, social media management, website consulting design and maintenance, EPKs created, graphics for advertising and social media branded videos, and more. If you wish (and we really wish you wouldn't) like to be removed from this list, please reply with REMOVE in subject line.
It will make us very sad if you do, and perhaps your removal will be the one the makes us decide this no longer worth doing at all, and all the information we provide will go away forever and musicians will sit home alone at night and cry because they have no one to play for because no one knows about their shows or music.
