Ky-Mani Marley returns with “A Little Bit (I’m Okay),” the fourth and final single ahead of his highly anticipated new album, Love and Energy, which is slated for an August 28 release, and available to pre-save now on all digital platforms via his Konfrontation Muzik label in partnership with New York-based DubShot Records.
Written by Ky-Mani Marley, daughter Imani Marley, and longtime collaborator Shaquel Leon, “A Little Bit (I’m Okay)” turns a deeply personal chapter in Marley’s life into an honest reflection on mistakes, uncertainty, resilience and ultimately, acceptance. Rather than pretending everything is perfect, Ky-Mani lands somewhere more real: life can take you down roads you never expected, force you to question yourself and leave you carrying lessons you never asked for — and you can still come through it able to say, I’m okay.
“A Little Bit (I’m Okay)” became a crowd favorite during the European leg of Ky-Mani’s recent Love and Energy summer tour. A live video for the song, which premiered on his YouTube channel, captures an intimate performance filmed at the Toulouse Rio Loco Festival in France this past June, alongside behind-the-scenes footage from the road.
Built around a classic one-drop reggae rhythm and the distinctive cry of pedal steel guitar from musician Tal Morris, the track was produced by Ky-Mani Marley, Anthony Smith, and Llamar “Riff Raff” Brown. Ky-Mani opens the song with a vulnerable look at the roads that shaped him:“I’ve been walking roads with no clear signs, trying to read between the wrong and the right lines. I took some turns I didn’t plan, just trying to figure out who I am– made some mistakes I can’t erase, but that’s alright.”
For Marley, the message is not about having life completely figured out. It is about making peace with the journey."'A Little Bit (I’m Okay)' came from a real place in my life," shared Ky-Mani. "I was going through some things, questioning things, looking at choices I made and roads I had taken. Sometimes life doesn’t go the way you planned, and you don’t always have all the answers. But you learn, you grow and you keep moving. For me, being able to say ‘I’m okay’ doesn’t mean everything is perfect — it means I’ve made peace with where I’ve been and I’m grateful for where I am. That feeling runs through Love and Energy. This album is probably one of the most honest reflections of where I am today,”
That sentiment sits at the heart of Love and Energy, a 14-song collection accompanied by two spoken-word reflections, marking Ky-Mani’s first solo studio album in more than a decade. Throughout the project, Marley explores the experiences, relationships, struggles and growth that have shaped both the artist and the man he is today, while staying rooted in the reggae foundation that has defined his musical journey.
Ky-Mani’s next tour stop is Toronto on August 22 for a special performance at the Marley family’s signature Kaya Fest, where he will join brothers Stephen, Julian and Damian Marley on a star-studded bill also featuring Busta Rhymes, Shabba Ranks, and Lila Iké.

Sgt. Remo Reaches New Heights with ELVTD (Elevated) — His Most Complete Album to Date
|
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — August 2026 — After years of building bridges between reggae communities across Texas, Latin America, and Jamaica, international reggae artist Sgt. Remo enters a new chapter with ELVTD (Elevated), his seventh studio album.
Listen On Your Favorite Platform
More than an album title, ELVTD represents the artistic growth behind the project. Crafted as Sgt. Remo's most focused and intentional release to date, the 13-track album blends roots reggae, classic dancehall, and soulful reggae into a carefully sequenced listening experience that reflects both his musical evolution and his expanding international collaborations.
Released through King Remo Music, ELVTD brings together artists and producers from Jamaica, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States, continuing Sgt. Remo's mission of connecting reggae communities across borders while staying rooted in authentic Jamaican music.
"This is a special album for me. It's my seventh album and the most complete body of work up to now. I've released a lot of music through the years, but this one is different. I'm here. I've arrived. My flag is planted firmly. I'm not going anywhere. I am reggae music. From Texas, to the whole world."
The album features an international lineup of guest artists including Jamaican reggae veterans Chezidek, Ranking Joe, and General Smiley; Junior Dread from Brazil; UK reggae great Gappy Ranks; Dre Z Melodi of New Mexico; Chilean artist Oskart; and Kroywen.
Production is equally international. Much of the album was produced by Kutral Dub (Chile), alongside contributions from True Move International (Colombia), Wadadah II (United States), GY2MX (United States), and Nasasoid (Colombia), creating a rich sound that honors classic reggae traditions while embracing modern production.
Track Listing
Reggae Music a Play (feat. Chezidek); Keep It Steady; Nunca Pares (feat. Junior Dread); So Civilized (feat. Kroywen); Hard Working People (feat. Gappy Ranks); Vibes So Nice (Album Mix); Love Is the Highest Power (feat. Dre Z Melodi); Sista Ganja; I Like It (feat. Ranking Joe); Irie Feeling (feat. General Smiley) Federales (feat. Oskart); That Day; Hold Your Hand
ELVTD was conceived as a complete listening experience. The album begins with conscious roots reggae before transitioning into a vibrant run of classic dancehall and rub-a-dub. It concludes with two heartfelt love songs, creating a musical journey that rewards listeners who experience the record from beginning to end.
The release arrives after one of the most productive periods of Sgt. Remo's career. Over the past two years, he has expanded his international presence through collaborations with artists and producers across the Americas and Europe, performed throughout Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Jamaica, and the United States, released multiple acclaimed projects, recorded new music in Kingston, Jamaica, produced the documentary short Texas Rockers, and continued growing King Remo Music into a platform that connects reggae artists from around the world. ELVTD stands as the culmination of that momentum.
While proudly representing San Antonio, Texas, Sgt. Remo continues to build a career that extends far beyond his hometown. Through music, collaboration, and cultural exchange, he has become one of the leading independent artists connecting the Texas reggae scene with the global reggae movement.
ELVTD (Elevated) is available worldwide on all major digital streaming platforms.

Arcata, CA - CANNIFEST 2026 - September 12 & 13 - The Humboldt Weekend Where Music, Culture, and Community Collide - Melvin Seals & JGB, Sister Carol, Brett McFarland, more...
|
Some festivals chase trends. Others create moments that linger long after the final encore. Cannifest 2026 belongs firmly in the second category. On September 12 and 13, the historic Arcata Ballpark will transform into the beating heart of Humboldt County, where four stages of music, local art, independent makers, and one of California's most distinctive communities come together for a weekend that feels equal parts concert, street fair, and cultural homecoming.
Forget endless asphalt parking lots and corporate branding stretched across every fence. Cannifest is rooted in place. The towering redwoods are just down the road. The Pacific Ocean isn't far beyond them. And everywhere you look, Humboldt's fiercely independent spirit shapes the experience—from the musicians taking the stage to the artists hanging their work and the farmers sharing the harvest that has defined this region for generations.
This all-ages event really centers on creating a safe space for multiple generations to relax and enjoy—or get involved in the many activations in the Family Interactive Zone (FIZ). Face painters, Tie dye workshops, Hula Hoop making activities,Art Projects and so much more! The music, naturally, is the centerpiece With top-tier production stages running throughout the weekend, Cannifest creates the kind of musical journey that rewards curiosity. One minute you're caught in front of a powerhouse headlining set.
The next you're discovering a local band that somehow hasn't exploded beyond Northern California yet. Instead of funneling everyone toward one moment, Cannifest invites festival-goers to build their own soundtrack. It's a reminder of what music festivals used to feel like before algorithms started deciding what everyone should hear. Then there's Arcata.
In an era when many festivals require shuttle schedules, rideshare apps, and strategic parking plans, Arcata offers something refreshingly simple: you can walk almost everywhere. The city is compact, vibrant, and built for wandering.Downtown radiates and the fest is just half a block away from the historic Arcata Plaza, where independent cafés, record stores, bookstores, breweries, vintage shops, and locally owned restaurants create an atmosphere that's more neighborhood than tourist destination. That walkability changes everything. Wake up, grab breakfast at a local café, browse a record store, stroll through the Plaza, and make your way to the festival without ever climbing behind the wheel. After the last encore, the night doesn't abruptly end in a sea of traffic.
Instead, it spills naturally back into town, where conversations continue over walks to the afterparty. It's the kind of festival experience that's becoming increasingly rare.Cannifest also refuses to separate music from the community that surrounds it. Makers, artists, educators, farmers, and local businesses are woven into the weekend rather than pushed to the sidelines. The result feels less like a touring event dropped into a city and more like Humboldt opening its front door and inviting everyone inside. That authenticity is impossible to manufacture. For decades,Humboldt County has occupied a mythical place in California's cultural imagination—a landscape of ancient redwoods, rugged coastline, sustainable farms, creative independence, and people determinedto do things their own way.
Cannifest channels that same energy. It's ambitious without feeling overproduced, expansive, without losing its local soul. Guests from all around the world are set to fly into the ACV airport, or climb the Cali coast in tour buses to share their knowledge, create content, taste the delicious local food and beverages and cultivate a true sense of human connection. As festival culture continues to evolve, events like Cannifest remind us why people gather around live music in the first place.
It's not just about the lineup. It's about the conversations between sets. The unexpected discoveries. The places you explore. The strangers who become friends by the end of the night. Cannifest 2026 promises all of that—and something even harder to find:a genuine sense of place. For one weekend in September, Arcata won't simply host a music festival. It will become one. Leading the charge is Melvin Seals & JGB, bringing the enduring spirit of the Jerry Garcia Band to Humboldt with the soulful Hammond grooves and improvisational fire that have made Seals a jam-scene legend. Joining them is Sister Carol, the Grammy-nominated reggae icon whose commanding voice and conscious lyrics have made her one of the genre's most respected performers.
Tickets available at cannifest.com along with other details including how to get involved. Follow @cannifest for other exciting news and sponsor spotlights!

With themes of family, resilience, and unity woven into their music, The Green has cultivated a devoted global fanbase.
