                                                   Late October 2016
 From Jill Badonsky
Hi Creative Friend:

In Greek Mythology, Mnemosyne was the goddess of memory and the inventress of language and words. She and Zeus, the sky and thunder god, had a fling responsible for nine kids who became entities called Muses (with hard to pronounce names). It must have been a pretty darn passionate fling to result in that many girls, but I suspect Mnemosyne was extremely desirable because creativity is, after all, an aphrodisiac.
Each of the muses was in charge of inspiring a different creative realm for Greeks who couldn’t otherwise explain where creative inspiration came from so they invented this story – which, come to think of it, is a creative act in and of itself.
So I surmise from this cleverly concocted union of memory and thunder, that when I am being creative, I am remembering who I am  and can live out loud with flash and power because thunder has never been known to whisper. Living out loud means not being afraid to share this very vulnerable facet that comes with being creative - a newly hatched creation. And conversely, courage grows when we answer our creative call. Courage upon all who read these words

If I don't remember how important creativity is to me, making the time for it can get lost and my inspiration silenced because of the prevalent noise and distractions everywhere. That rarely happens but when it does I need a little thunder to remind myself of one of my most coveted intentions while sashaying on the planet.

Rare and Robust Carpacinno Tips:
  • I often summon my creative self by recalling the last time I found a space for my creative passion and then remembering what made that possible. When was the last time you were creative and how'd that happen? [cue thunder]
  • I pull out my favorite writing and painting to remind myself that I've actually done things I like- that action, in and of itself, can effortlessly lead to the desire to do more. I like effortless, there's enough struggle in other areas of my Earthly gig. What works for you to show up? [cue thunder again]
Join me on a call on November 10, 2016 for some ways to remember your creative self. I will coach a volunteer who is resistant or stuck (let me know if that's you), and lure you into remembering or discovering some of your own creative juju. [cue phone conversation ... okay, I'll stop]

Lawrence did the same. Elements from from Finding Uber Bliss will be a big part of the retreat. More information for The Muse in Winter is here. Early registration ends in November.

"Big thank you close to 10 years now Jill Badonsky "I had the privilege and joy to participate in Jill's Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coaching and also Jill's Muse Facilitator Training programs in California around 2007. My intention in studying the process of creativity with Jill was to support myself in becoming a working professional artist and stay inspired and alive in my creativity for the rest of my life. Her programs more than answered my questions and thirst for understanding how artists can thrive. Close to a decade later I remain inspired, producing, and alive in my creativity. Jill's work is due credit and is ahead of its time and goes beyond the physical to support creatives to overcome their blocks and succeed. The tools she shares work. I am a living testament. Thank you Jill for sharing your work, your humor, your inspiration. I highly recommend Jill to anyone wanting to really learn how to work effectively with artists, or with their own creative selves for that matter." Deb Chaney

When I was in fourth grade I wanted to be a rock star. Not everyone can be a rock star for real, but on Halloween you can be anything, so a few years ago I was a rock star. Evidently, I had a hit that only required playing one note on the keyboard. What lost life can you revive on Halloween?
