Hi Creative Friends,

"If there is one door in the castle you have been told not to go through, you must. Otherwise, you'll just be rearranging furniture in rooms you've already been in."
— Anne Lamott

I walk through the doors I was told not to go through and alarms go off, a dog bark, some woman in a gray suit yells at me, but when I get quiet and I can hear the stars praying.

In some castle rooms, worry struts around humming in an endless loop of monotone warnings and whimpers ringing her hands and biting her finger nails. Worry always thinks I'm doing something wrong and is complicit with regrets and guilt. They can discombobulate me if I don't turn to the creative reframe.

I made a scientifically impressive study of the noises I make when I wake myself up with a snort in the middle of the night. In low guttural, terribly unlady-like execution, I seem to say the word "ANGST."  Say it out loud now.  Go ahead, from deep down in your throat.  That's what we say when we snort. Right?

If we all are saying "ANGSSSST" in the middle of the night, it must need to be assigned to SOMETHING. Free-floating angst. There's rarely is an angst-less moment for those who haven't been enlightened by deep meditation and witness consciousness.

Think about it. When's the last time you didn't have a worry, a fret, a psychic disturbance of some snort.. I mean sort? Once one thing in our lives is resolved, we often assign worry to something else. We keep that static in the castle rooms we are not supposed to go into. We aren't alone.

In the creative process, worry flies all over the weaving pathway to our desired process and practice. Any of these questions sound familiar:
How will I begin? Where do I go next? What if it’s not good enough? Who’s going to want THIS?  Am I wasting my time and money? Why did this seem like a good idea in the shower and now that I’m writing about it, it sucks? How do I get this ink stain out of the couch?

ANNNNGST! Wake-up!

Ask a different question: What do I love about my creative process? What if it all turns out better than I imagined?

Free Creativity Call:  The Castle is Haunted: Befriending Your Creative Shadows
There's a practice we can begin in order to move from angst to airiness, from bothered to buoyancy. It's called free-floating creative freedom and often it needs unleashing before creative action is even possible.  Join me on the call Tuesday, June 13 at 2pm pacific/5pm eastern and I'll take you through an experience of allowing angst to flutter by and embracing instead, joyous flow. Sign-up even if you can't make it - I'll send out the recording.

Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coaching Training

I was talking to my hair dresser the other day, asking her why Bumble  and Bumble products are so much better than other hair products. She  said because they were invented by hair-dressers to solve hair  problems and not by big industries to make money.

I realized that's how Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coaching was invented. The  designer of this program is an artist, writer, performer, and poet (me) that  had many creative blocks and the drive and passion to not only  breakthrough those blocks, but also to share the secrets with other creative  people. Additionally, author and renown psychologis,t Dr. Bob Maurer, part  of the faculty, used Kaizen to write his book and work through his own self-sabotage.

The model is based on lowering pressure instead of increasing it, play instead of seriousness, experiences during the session instead of just accountability, compassion instead of force... small, simple steps instead of large leaps that lead to procrastination because fear is triggered.

One woman show, three books, several art shows, columns, and peak moments later I can report.. this stuff really works.

Those who go through the KMCC certification training program experience their own creative breakthroughs. Join us this August.

The Creative Alchemist Initiation: How to Get Unblocked, Create Constant Inspiration, and Finally Finish Your Projects
Beginning June 1, 2017- A free online event
Edeline Wrigh interviewed me on this free event, chock-filled with creative inspiration. She is a creative, fun, magical spirit and coach. I will be speaking on the plight of unfinished projects as well as ways you can keep your creativity alive bypassing many of the typical blocks. But note - my own bias is that sometimes a Lull is in order: a time to put the need for constant inspiration down; and sometimes we need to set free our "unfinished projects" and decree them as complete in their own way.  Find out more here.

Most coaching models use the big challenge or blast model of change which appeals to a certain type of person who thrives on going big.  Often this is not sustainable.
The Kaizen-Muse model creates change by taking baby steps - and change sneaks up on the client.   Creativity is such a treat with KMCC - the process becomes it's own reward. ~Samantha Sinclair, Certified KMCC Coach

As a psychotherapist, creativity coach and facilitator of writing groups, I have followed and taught Jill’s work for years.  But it wasn’t until I actually took her KMCC training, that I got to dive into the deep essence of her philosophy and truly experience the Beauty of her work—both soulful and practical in its application.  Each and every tool that she offers provides direction that empowers our creative expression.  Through her compassionate and skillful guidance, I learned how to navigate the challenges that can stall and block us, to mine our rich, intuitive inner Muse-inspired resources, and to use viable structure to make the creative process productive, fun and enjoyable.
Through Jill’s gifted vision and the exciting community that she has formed around creativity, I am now armed with incredible material to empower my clients.  I feel filled with fresh enthusiasm for my own creative process.  She has forged a path for the creative spirit in all of us—and one I had been waiting for all my life.  Thank you, Jill!  ~Cyncie Winter, MH, MA, LPC
