Single Opt-in

A single opt-in is when a user signs up for email communications, but doesn't confirm the action. This means they can be signed up for a list by someone else or even by the sender. This is not a recommended way to build a healthy email list, however, under certain circumstances people may write their emails down for the sender to input manually.
