Phishing / Email Harvesting
Refers to email scams that attempt to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity such as social web sites, auction sites, banks, etc. These messages are designed to "phish" for personal and financial information (e.g. passwords, usernames, social security numbers, credit card numbers, mother's maiden name, etc.) from the recipient by directing users to enter details at a fake website whose look and feel are almost identical to the legitimate one. Email harvesting refers to extracting emails from pages on the internet using a robot software. MyNewsletterBuilder (MNB) will block and report anyone who attempts a phishing scam or uses harvested emails on our service.
